Clearance of Personal Items in Public Area
In order to keep the hall a safe and hygienic environment for residents, all residents are required to remove their personal items stored in the common area(s). A common area is defined as any area beyond your own room. Such areas may include but are not limited to pantry, corridors, stairways, disabled toilets, and shower rooms. More details can be found in the Hall Handbook P. 9-10 (Personal Property and Improper Conduct in Hall Premises).
The following protocol will be implemented going forward:
- The hall office and tutors will perform unannounced and random inspections starting from 29 October 2024.
- Any item(s) found in common area(s) will be labelled with a notice (see example below) indicating the item(s), date, and the room of concern. A photo will also be taken for official record keeping.
- Owner of the item(s) must remove the item(s) within 3 days (e.g. item(s) found and labelled with a notice indicating 29 October 2024 must be removed before 1 November 2024).
- Owner of the unremoved item(s) will 1) receive a formal written warning and 2) be fined 100 HKD per item per day1 if item(s) is not removed after 3 days. Such warning will be documented and may result in readmission marks deduction.
- Repeated violations may result in further disciplinary actions including suspension of hall membership.
- All unclaimed items will be disposed at any time without further notice. Lady Ho Tung Hall shall not be responsible for any damages, losses, or liability of any kind arising from these arrangements.
1Fines will be charged to your portal. You may be de-registered due to outstanding fees, please note that
