Readmissions

Current or former LHTH residents in good standing may submit an application for readmission (R1 admissions). All applicants must submit TWO FORMS by the deadlines – the HKU portal form, and the LHTH Contribution Score form.

The readmission timeline is included in the Hall Handbook. LHTH communicates all readmission deadlines and criteria to students via email and announcements posted in the Hall and on the website. Open forums may be held to discuss readmission procedures and/or policies. Residents are responsible for this information.

Readmission scoring, procedures, and deadlines are defined by the University of Hong Kong Committee on Halls and are subject to change. The hall contribution score is defined in accordance with these guidelines by the LHTH Admissions Committee, which includes the Warden, the Senior Resident Tutor, tutor, SA representatives, and elected student representatives. The Hall Office collects and calculates all scores.

Academic Performance  25%  Calculated by the University. Above 2.0, on a scale of 1-10. 
Hall Contribution  25%  Collected by the Hall Office. Defined and monitored by the Admissions Committee.  
Interview  Conducted by Admissions Committee. Some borderline cases may be invited for interview. 

Candidates who have been unsuccessful in the R1 admissions round, but would like to continue to reside in LHTH have two choices:

  • Students with extenuating circumstances may submit an appeal.

  • Students may apply for the waitlist and via CCH. CCH is opened by CEDARS in June. Students must submit both the CEDARS application and the internal LHTH from to be considered for the waitlist.
